    • Longkeng

No. 50, Eluan Road, Eluan Village, Hengchun Township, Pingtung County
Distance from resort:900m, 3 minutes by car

Longkeng is located about 1.5 kilometers east of Eluanbi, southeast of the villages of Puding and Kengding and is the closest section of the east coast to the south. Longkeng is characterized by a raised coral reef terrain. Because it is located at the end of the angle of the Eluanbi, with the waves lapping the reef shore in winter, the active erosion has created the unique terrain of collapsing cliffs, fringing reefs and canyons in the whole area of Longkeng. As the area has taken on the shape of a dragon, it was thus named Longkeng ("Dragon Pit"). There are 215 species of coral reef coastal plants found in the area, as well as many kinds of birds and reptiles, etc. Both the coral reef topography and the ecology of flora and fauna are of great value for research, so it is classified as a conservation area (ecological reserve).

Inside the park, the trails are crisscrossed, just like being in a labyrinth, and there are attractions such as the Hao Han Rock, the Changhai Pavilion, Youyi Village, the Curly Banyan, the Valley of Seclusion, and the Welcome Pavilion, all of which are fascinating sights to behold. When the waves are rolling towards the shore one after another, the surfers on the shore are ready to go, calculating the timing, that is, surfing towards the sea with a surfboard, and then catching the best waves, jumping or diving through the waves, and bending back to the shore with the waves. In the sandy area with coconut groves and trees, on the beach with umbrellas or shade huts, just lie quietly on a beach chair under the shade and enjoy the blue happiness brought by nature, and watch the happy smiles on the faces of tourists swimming, building sand castles, surfing and collecting sand shells.

It is like a beach embraced by the reef, and the bay has an undisturbed and tranquil atmosphere. Whether it is early in the morning or late at night, when the sun rises in the east or sets in the west, walking barefoot on the fine, soft sand, listening to the regular sound of the tide, watching the sea moving in and out gracefully.... your pace unconsciously slows down. When you stop and glimpse the golden glow of the waves in the distance, the beautiful scenery is forever etched in your mind.

The beach has fine sands and crystal clear water, making it suitable for a variety of marine activities and beach sports, but there is only a little shade from the tall seaside trees, so beware of the glaring hot sun with nowhere to hide. Because of this, colorful umbrellas can be seen everywhere on the beach in all corners, looking from a distance like a painting of a tropical paradise.

Wandering on the vast grassland, you can see the winding coast and the steep cliffs in the distance.
